It was about 5 years ago and we were one excited family. It was Scott's Dad and Mom's 60th wedding anniversary and they were taking the family to Hawaii. We were out of bed and running at 5:00 am, planning to catch a shuttle to LAX for a 9:00 am flight to Honolulu.
We had all the luggage at the front door when our limo arrived. We loaded the gear, counted the family, hit the rode and glided up to our airline curb in record time. We were fortunate, not much traffic.
Our chauffeur got out, opened our car door. We already could feel the island breeze. It was great. So exciting. So surreal. The whole family was going spend a week in Hawaii.
With tickets in hand, we began checking our luggage. Kelsey asked a key question "Where's my suitcase?" Long pause. Scott replies "Did you bring it down stairs and put it by the front door where I asked you to?" Long pause. "I didn't know I was supposed to." Long pause.
Everyone else go the message and brought their respective bags down. Hmm. Kelsey missed the memo and she had no luggage. It was sitting at the top of the stairs at home.
Could have been ugly, but Kelsey just pulled up her boot straps, with a few tears, and moved on. She shared her sisters clothes and scored some new threads including a stunning swimsuit from Walmart (hehe).
Roderick. Blonde. No more to be said.
