We are a complete Olympics lover family. The fam was so fortunate in 2002 to be able to attend the festivities in Salt Lake City. The atmosphere is like no other athletic event. It is patriotic on so many levels that it is hard to capture the emotions that it evokes. Leave it to say that it is jaw dropping marvelous.
2002 brought with it a fashion icon. The coveted tam worn by the Olympians at the Opening Ceremonies. Those little navy blue head coverings, brought to the games by Roots were, indeed hard to find. But the Roderick's are born to find the most elusive fashion gear imaginable and we, in the true spirit of the games, would not be beat.
We went directly to the Roots Store in Park City and began our search. We waited in line for 2 hours and were able to purchase 2 tams each at $20.00 a pop. What a proud moment in Roderick history. USA, USA, USA.
2010 will prove to be a little more challenging as we are not able to travel to VanCouver. So we have sent our personal envoy to represent our clan. Kelsey is there this weekend and she is cheering our USA team on to victory. Her side bar assignment is to once again score the adorable head piece that our athletes are sporting. Ralph Lauren designed the knitted beanie and I want one so that I may copy the pattern. Go Kelsey and the USA!
Good luck honey, I just checked ebay and the beanies are selling for about $400.00 each.
